The English Schools Primary Schools' Team Championships took place at Ponds Forge, Sheffield on Saturday 16th June 2018.

Schools from around the country swim regional qualifying rounds and the fastest go forward to these finals.

Within the swim programme are region versus region para events.

Two teams of primary school age para swimmers represented the West Midlands at the event.

Both teams performed well and the 'Orange' team won both the mixed stroke and freestyle relays, breaking the record in the mixed stroke event.

The 'Black' team brought the house down with their determination to finish - it was a humbling and inspiring moment for a packed poolside.

The primary age para team do not need to be formally classified and the regional organiser, Neil Monkhouse, is always looking for para swimmers to swim in his teams.
