Some of our Water Polo players have just returned from the EU Nations in Brno, Czech Republic, where they competed as an unofficial GB team under the banner British Hawks.
A narrow defeat to Slovakia was followed by a great win against the Czechs, a heavy defeat to Germany and then a massive win against Scotland. The team then beat Scotland again 14 – 9 to win the Bronze and bring home a trophy.
A strong West Midland contingent included Hannah Hinton as Head Coach, assisted by Mark Ibbs, and Dave Turpin as Team Manager. The players included Charlotte Turpin, Bella Balzaretti, Bella Ibbs, Emily Hewston, Regan James, Serena Newell, Jess Day and Imogen Blassberg . Bella Ibbs top scored with 11 goals and was joint 4th overall in the tournament scorers list and Charlotte and Bella B were also in the top 10 scoring list.
