Britain’s European Champs Comeback

Great Britain’s Women placed 7th at their first European Water Polo Championships in a decade, securing their best placing since 2012, with West Midlands players Amelie Perkins and Vicky Hawkins putting on incredible performances in the competition.

This result means the team has earned an invite to next month’s World Aquatics Championships in Doha and are automatically qualified for the next European Championships in 2026.

The youngest member of the squad, Amelie Perkins, is from the West Midland Region, training and competing with City of Coventry SC. Amelie scored multiple goals against the opposition, including world champions and bronze medalist teams, and her interview can be found below:
