Water Polo Inter-regionals

The under 14’s inter-regional water polo championships for boys and girls took place in early December at Walsall Gala Baths.

The girl’s event on 3rd and 4th December saw the Midlands team take the silver medal.

Group A results from day 1 with the Midlands team finishing top of the group:

The team was up against the East Region in the semi-finals on day 2. The game was tight but the team remained in control winning 7-5.

The final was against the South West who won Group B on day 1.

This was a tough game with the South West winning 13-9.

Aaliyah Lloyd was awarded the team’s Most Valuable Player and Mia Lovell won top scorer of the competition.

The boy’s event on 10th and 11th December saw the Midlands team take the bronze medal.

he team was up against the North East Steelers in the semi-finals. Unfortunately the team lost 11-10 on penalties.

The bronze medal match was against the East Region.

After an initial slow start the team finally secured 3rd spot after a 22-8 victory.

Jermaine Cann-Livingstone was awarded the team’s Most Valuable Player.
