Pictured here are four of Orion Swimming Club’s swimmers who were selected to be Batonbearers in the Queen’s Baton Relay. They were each nominated by their school for their resilience, sporting achievement and contribution to school and community life. Ellie Sibbald-Perkins carried the baton in Smethwick and Emily Rotherham, Sophia Okoosi-Dunn and Amelie Zarifeh all carried it through Selly Oak.
Also pictured are fellow members Harriet Giles and Clair Huckerby who were also involved in the Games. Harriet was on hockey ball patrol in the morning hockey matches and her mum Clair was a volunteer pharmacist in the Polyclinic.
