Recruitment of Regional Club Constitution Assessors

Urgent Requirement

Do you have a good eye for detail? Are you an analytical thinker? Do you have an interest in policies / governance or are looking to expand your knowledge in this area? This is a great opportunity to not only enhance your skills but showcase your expertise.

Due to our current Constitution Assessor taking a step back from the role, the West Midlands Region is in urgent need of a number of Club Constitution Assessors.

The voluntary role would involve the review and critique of submitted club constitutions/governing documents against the new Swim England model constitutions. A Club Constitution Assessor would be a source of support to our 70+ clubs updating their constitutions. The number of club constitutions would vary month to month and the timescales for turnaround would be agreed –  please be assured you that this isn’t expected to be a time consuming role.

The Region has agreed that all clubs must be compliant to the new models by their SwimMark / Club Affiliation panel submission in 2024 and we are so pleased that our clubs have started this process. We have seen a steady increase in submissions from clubs and are therefore looking for one or more volunteers to support this process.

The suitable candidate would have:

  • An eye for detail,
  • Time management skills,
  • Ability to work well in a team,
  • Excellent communication skills,
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing workloads,
  • An understanding of the operations of a sports club e.g., working of club committees, AGM’s and dispute procedures (preferred but not essential)

Guidance and support would be provided to the successful candidate(s). If you are interested in this voluntary position, please contact the Region with your CV.
