The Regional Management Board employ staff members who carry out the operational delivery of the Strategy. These staff members act on behalf of the Region, and are employed by Swim England.

Amanda Swan
Regional Operations Manager

Amanda has worked in various roles for the Region since joining the team in 2014, and now occupies the role of Regional Operations Manager as of early 2023. Amanda has a wealth of knowledge and experience in clubs, development, and governance. Within this role, her focus is leading on the development and progression of the Regional Strategy, oversight of all operational work, and management of the staff team. Amanda works closely with the Regional Management Board and maintains a a lead on the current Coach Development work.

Sian joined the team in 2022, where she began managing the Regional swimming events and pathways. Sian has a wealth of experience in swimming, and you might see her competing locally at competitions. As well as this, she supports multiple voluntary committees, helping the development of Water Polo and Artistic Swimming. She also leads on our recent website re-vamp, and our communications.

Ffion joined the team in 2024 and will lead on Club Affiliation, all general club support, and support the development of the aquatic pathway.
- Previous experience in job roles- Previously worked at Loughborough University overseeing the Intramural, Social and Staff Sport alongside working with the rugby team to grow their women’s development offer.
- Likes- Archery, cakes and chai lattes
- Dislikes- Bad internet connections, sweet potatoes and being cold
- Interesting fact- I speak welsh as a second language

Laura joined the team in 2024 to provide with administrative support to the Regional Management Board, delivery of the AGM, communication to the Regional membership and day to day operations.
- Previous experience in job roles: I worked at Welsh Rowing for 8 years as Rowing Development Manager leading on the organisations Development and Coach Education across all rowing disciplines.
- Likes: The outdoors, walking the dogs, sport, spending time with my young family and coffee!
- Dislikes: Brussel sprouts and people that hog the middle lane on the motorway!
- Interesting fact: I swam at county and regional level as a junior!
