Swimming Coach (Level 2) – Droitwich Dolphins Swimming Club
Location: Droitwich Spa Leisure Centre, Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire
Position Type: Part-Time / Permanent (Competitive hourly rates based on experience)
Closing Date: Friday 4th September 2026
About Us
Droitwich Dolphins Swimming Club is a passionate, small-to-medium-sized community swimming club. Led by an experienced Head Coach, our mission is to develop competitive success with a friendly heart. We feature a dedicated roster of core coaches alongside a fantastic network of qualified older swimmers acting as lane helpers. We pride ourselves on nurturing home-grown talent from development up to regional standards.
The Opportunity & Flexible Hours
To support the ongoing development of our training programme, we are looking to expand our principal poolside team with the addition of a permanent Level 2 Swimming Coach.
Our training schedule is highly suited to fitting around other employment or studies. All weekday sessions are in the evening, with start times no earlier than 6:30pm.
Immediate Hours Note: Due to pre-planned extended staff leave coinciding over the coming weeks, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to take on an initial high-density block of cover hours. This provides an excellent opportunity to embed yourself into the squads right away, before transitioning into a stable, permanent part-time weekly roster with a particular focus on Sunday sessions.
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, engaging, and progressive training sessions across our junior and competitive squads, working from sets planned by our Head Coach and Assistant Head Coach.
- Work collaboratively on poolside; depending on the session, you may be working alongside our Head Coach/Level 2 Coach, or leading the session with the support of a Level 1 Coach or lane helpers.
- Provide constructive feedback and technical correction to swimmers.
- Mentor and guide our teenage lane helpers on the poolside.
- Support the club at designated open meets and club time trials where required.
- Maintain a fun, inclusive, safe, and positive training environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Swim England / SEQ Level 2 Swimming Coach qualification (or equivalent).
- Up-to-date Swim England Safeguarding certification.
- A valid Enhanced DBS check. Please note: In line with Swim England regulations, an updated DBS check specifically aligned/renewed for Droitwich Dolphins Swimming Club must be fully processed and in place prior to commencing poolside coaching.
- Strong communication skills and a passion for community club development.
