Thank you – Tony Green

We would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to Tony Green for his many years of dedicated service to swimming and to the West Midlands Region.

Tony’s involvement in swimming began in 1980, when he joined Nuneaton Swimming Club. Since then, he has given an incredible amount to the sport, taking on a wide range of roles including official, officials assessor, swimming teacher, committee member and club chairman. His involvement then extended to the wider swimming community, serving on the County Executive and as Facilities Officer on the Swimming Committee of the Midland District.

In 2006, Tony joined the Management Board of the newly formed West Midland Region, having previously been a member of the National Regionalisation Project Group. In 2016, he took on the role of Licensing Officer for the West Midland Region, continuing in the role until 2026, including two years after stepping down from the Swim England West Midland Region Management Board in 2024.

Throughout an incredible 46 years of involvement in swimming, Tony has consistently gone above and beyond, sharing his time, knowledge and experience to support clubs, officials and competitions across the region.

We are hugely grateful to Tony for his dedication, commitment and outstanding contribution to swimming in the West Midlands. His service to the sport has been truly exceptional, and we would like to thank him for everything he has done over the years.
