We look forward to welcoming you to the Swim England West Midlands Winter Championships 2024. Returning to Sandwell Aquatics Centre this weekend, this event is sure to be another memorable competition for all our attendees.
Parking and arrival
The Aquatics Centre will be shared use with members of the public, and so we have a very limited number of spaces.
Parking passes will be prioritised for our event staff, officials, volunteers, and clubs (Coaches/ TMs). Find out how many your club has on the event page.
The Harry Mitchell Centre car park will be open, approximately a 15 minute walk away. There will be parking available locally, please be courteous to residents and consider parking further out and walking in. You may drop off swimmers along Manor Road and find parking elsewhere.
No parking will be permitted on-site for anyone without a parking pass.
Side doors will open for volunteers and officials from 7:00am, and for Coaches and Team Managers as soon as possible once our volunteers are ready. Swimmers will be let onto poolside as the coaches and TMs are.
Swimmers and spectators will enter via the front of the building. Swimmers will head through the changing rooms to poolside.
Come and support your swimmers
Get involved in the action and come to spectate the event. Tickets are now available via the link below.
Can’t come along? Tune into our livestream, and don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel.
A reminder that spectators are not permitted on poolside.
If you need to speak with the team, or your coach, please ask the accreditation desk to fetch them. We have safeguarding policies in place to protect your swimmers.
Only swimmers should enter the changing rooms.
Coach briefings
We will hold 2 coach briefings on Saturday morning. All clubs must have a coach in attendance (to 1 of 2), and sign to confirm they were present. This is an important chance to go through the event running, any changes from previous events, allow clubs to ask questions, and for the event team to meet the coaches.
- 7:45am
- 8:45am
Briefings will be 10-15 minutes long
Clubs who are only present on Saturday afternoon and Sunday should come to the AOE suite and ask for Mandy or Sian for the coaches briefing.
Coach and Team Manager Accreditations
A gentle reminder that all Coaches and Team Managers require an accreditation to be on poolside. This needs to be printed off prior to the event and in view at all times.
Accreditations should be purchased to reflect the requirements as detailed in Wavepower. Clubs with too many, or too few, coaches and team managers on poolside will be asked to correct their ratios.
Clubs may work together to meet ratios.
